Traffic Works Presents at the 2014 Bicycle and Pedestrian Summit

The annual Bicycle and Pedestrian Summit will be held at the Atlantis Casino March 11th and 12th.  The main priority of the Summit is pedestrian and bicycle transportation and safety but there will also be information on bicycle tourism, facility planning and design, safety, enforcement and education initiatives.  During the two day summit there will be many speaker and workshops covering a wide variety of topics. (Click here for the agenda.) One of the speakers will be Traffic Works very own Robert Acevedo, who will speak about the benefits and challenges of Bicycle/Pedestrian count programs.  With his extensive experience in conducting the RTC Washoe Bike/Pedestrian count program, he will be able to provide unique insight into this data collection technique that has been growing across the nation.  He will be presenting with Patrice Echola from RTC Washoe and Karen Fink from the Tahoe MPO who will provide their take on the benefits and challenges of these programs.

The Bicycle and Pedestrian Summit was a great success!  It was wonderful to see so many advocates of cycling and pedestrian safety come out and show support.
