Multi-Modal Data Collection

Traffic Works is highly experienced in conducting large scale data collection efforts; specializing in bicycle and pedestrian count programs.  We have specialized software applications including ArcGIS mobile data mapping which allows us to create a georeferenced and detailed database for any project.  These databases have been created for signage inventories and entire corridors including ADA compliance issues and pedestrian connectivity gaps.

In addition to creating detailed and specific georeferenced databases, Traffic Works is an expert at conducting bicycle and pedestrian count programs.  Since 2013, Traffic Works has facilitated a quarterly citywide bicycle and pedestrian count data program in the Reno-Sparks area for the Regional Transportation Commission of Washoe County.  This effort includes peak AM and PM weekday counts in addition to midday weekend counts during the months of January, May, July, and September.  By collecting data quarterly, we are able to analyze seasonal changes in bicycle and pedestrian activity levels across the Reno-Sparks area.  Furthermore, with multiple years of data being collected, Traffic Works has been able to begin to identify long term trends in active transportation activity levels.  This effort has remained on-time and within budget since its inception in 2013.
